4 months agoWe stayed in the accommodation for a short break. The location is amazing. So tranquil and quiet. There were sheep roaming around and some right outside our door. The weather turned up for us which made the stay even more magical. The private beach has nobody else on it at times and at other times just one or two people. The sea wasn't calm on any of the days but it's nice to just sit there and listen to the sound of the waves. The path down to the beach is good - uphill on the way back so you need to be fit enough, a few steps at the top. The approach and drive down is dramatic with 2 hairpin bends so not for the faint hearted. We didnt try the cafe food but the coffee was good and it's an amazing spot to just sit and take in the vista. The exhibition in the centre is very interesting, well worth dropping in to learn about the history of the village and its regeneration. The iron age fort at the top of the hill looks interesting but we didnt have time to visit. The accommodation itself was clean, with some really thoughtful touches like Welsh soap, the Welsh wool cushion covers and throw. There was a portable hob to cook on and a toaster as well as the microwave and kettle.

3 months agoFantastic place to visit. The drive down is great fun and not too challenging. The whole area oozes history which you can read, listen and learn about while there. Then there is a steep walk down to the beach (not sand). After the walk back up you can visit the efficiently run cafe for a well deserved and needed drink. Then the drive back up. Great fun.

3 months agoA really good place to visit and find out about the old quarry. Excellent walks and a good cafe serving hot and cold meals. On a good day the views are breathtaking.

3 months agoNice cafe, great view out across the sea. Shop and book shop with lots of Welsh goods . But oh my the drive down is steep varied between 20 and 25 %, going back up I was glad my car is hybrid automatic.....
